According to South Korean intelligence services a North Korean diplomat working in Italy disappeared a few days before the end of his spell as chargé d’affaires at the end of november, 2018. Official North Korean offices didn’t say a word about a possible asylum request to a no specified Western country.

Italian foreign ministry sources told Italian agency ANSA that no asylum request by a North Korean functionary “has been made, to our knowledge”.
