According to HRW‘s informations Cameroonian security forces have killed at least four civilians and raped one woman since mid-June 2019 during security operations in the North-West region of the country. Between the killed an elderly man with a physical disability and a young man with a mental disability.
According to witnesses interviewed by HRW activists – vicims’ family members, medical personnel and residents – the cameroonian security forces raped a woman, but authorities denied the abuses.
Human Rights Watch has not been able to access the country since its researcher was denied entry, without explanation, on April 12, 2019.
According to the organization the anglophone regions of the country have been emroiled in an horrible cycle of deadly violence who left around 2000 people dead and uprooted almos half million people from their homes.
