“Bacha bazi” is, according to the US State Department, a “culturally sanctioned form of male rape”, which peels away the masculine identity of boys in a society where the sexes are tightly segregated. According to Yahoo News, quoting AFP, Taliban are using child sex slaves to mount crippling insider attacks on police in southern Afghanistan, using the ancient afghani custom known as “bacha bazi” – paedophilic boy play – to infiltrate security ranks, multiple officials and survivors of such assaults.
“Bacha bereesh”, or boys without beards, apparently are the favourite lustful attraction for powerful police commanders so Taliban has used them over the past two years to mount a wave of Trojan Horse attacks that have killed hundreds of policemen, according to security and judicial officials in the province.
According to the declaration of Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai, ancient Uruzan’s police chief, the Taliban “are sending boys – beautiful boys, handsome boys – to penetrate checkpoints and kill, drug and poison policemen (…) They have figured out the biggest weakness of police forces”. Those assaults signifying abuse of children by both Taliban and Afghan policemen. A state of inhumanity really hard to accept.
